Mike earned a BS in Civil Engineering in 1984, and a MS in Engineering Management from the University of New Orleans in 2000. Mike has worked for the Army Corps of Engineers in New Orleans since 1985. He has served 25 years in the New Orleans District Operations Division, where he has occupied several key positions, and now serves as the Chief of Operations Division.
In Oct 2005 Mike joined the executive team of the Louisiana Recovery Field Office (LA-RFO) for the response and recovery from hurricanes Katrina and Rita and served as the Director of the LA-RFO from June 2006 to July 2007. In this role Mike led a $2.9 billion Public Works and Engineering response and recovery program in a 40 Parish area of south Louisiana.
In July 2007 Mike joined the Mississippi Valley Division, Task Force Hope as the senior Program Manager of the Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System. He later served as both the Deputy Director and Chief of Task Force Hope charged with leading the design and construction of the $14.48B Greater New Orleans Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System.
